Heading Outback? That’s what you should know!
1. IT IS NOT ALWAYS DRY
As the Outback is very dry over winter, during summer months, it might be totally different. Some roads become rivers and you may get stuck.
2. FLIES WILL DRIVE YOU NUTS
They are everywhere and nothing will stop them.
3. THERE IS MORE VEGETATION THEN YOU WOULD EXPECT IN A DESERT
Even though the Outback is a harsh environment a lot of flora still manages to survive.
4. KANGAROOS ARE YOUR ENEMIES
You will see them everywhere but unfortunately in a dead state on the side of the road. Be careful especially during dusk and dawn.
5. COWS ARE EVEN WORSE
A lot of cattle stations throughout the Outback don’t have fences.
6. DUST
Unfortunately dust gets in everywhere. And I mean everywhere!
7. TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCES CAN BE GREAT
Hot during the day doesn’t mean it will be hot during the night. In the winter months in can drop to below zero overnight.
8. SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR BROKEN CAR
Distances between towns are great. If your car breaks down, in some places it may be more worthwhile to leave it behind. P.S. When you are taking shortcuts, remember that farmers don’t like pulling your car of their road.
9. INDIGENOUS AUSTRALIANS WON’T BE YOUR BEST FRIENDS
A lot of tourists think that travelling through Outback is the best way to meet Aboriginal People and see how they live… No. Apparently, there is more Aboriginals living in the cities now and, yes, there are some groups who has been living their traditional way for a long time but it doesn’t mean you are invited.
10. YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE
Cause there is something very special about Outback…
Thanks useful and funny tips:)
